Converting EPUB to PDF transforms a reflowable ebook into a fixed-layout document with defined page dimensions, making it printable and readable on devices or software that support PDF but not EPUB. EPUB packages HTML, CSS, and images in a zipped OPS container where text reflows to fit any screen width; PDF fixes the page geometry and embeds fonts so the layout is identical on every device. The conversion renders the EPUB's HTML chapters through a layout engine, applies the embedded CSS styles, and paginates the content into A4 or Letter pages (configurable). Images, tables, and code blocks are reproduced as rendered in the HTML. Internal hyperlinks and the table of contents are converted to PDF bookmarks and internal links where supported. 1converter uses Calibre in headless mode or LibreOffice for EPUB-to-PDF conversion, which handles EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 source files including those with embedded fonts.
