How XLSX to PDF Conversion Works
Converting an XLSX spreadsheet to PDF produces a paginated, print-ready document that displays the spreadsheet layout consistently across all devices and prevents recipients from modifying the underlying data. XLSX is the XML-based Open XML spreadsheet format used by Microsoft Excel; it renders dynamically depending on the viewer's screen size and installed software version, meaning the layout can shift between machines. PDF captures the exact layout as rendered by LibreOffice Calc in headless mode, including column widths, row heights, cell borders, merged cells, embedded charts, and conditional formatting colours.
