HEIC is a image format: it applies H.265 (HEVC) intra-frame compression achieving roughly twice the efficiency of JPEG at equal visual quality, used natively by Apple devices. ARW is a image format that stores data in the ARW format. This conversion changes the file's encoding, compression method, and supported feature set. Colour profiles and orientation metadata are preserved in the output. Converting between these two formats is common when the source application does not support ARW natively or when the target platform only accepts ARW. 1converter processes this conversion server-side using open-source tools.
