Converting PNG to PDF embeds the lossless raster image into a fixed-layout PDF document suitable for sharing, printing, or archiving. PNG uses lossless DEFLATE compression, preserving every pixel exactly; PDF embeds that pixel data into a page container with defined dimensions and metadata. The PNG image is placed on a page sized to its pixel dimensions at 72 DPI by default, or fitted to a standard paper size when that option is selected. Unlike JPEG, PNG supports an alpha-transparency channel; transparent pixels are composited over a white background in the PDF output since the PDF image stream uses the JPEG or Flate compression model without alpha support in base viewers. The resulting PDF is a single page unless multiple PNG files are batched together. 1converter stores the PNG data in the PDF using Flate compression to avoid re-encoding the pixels and prevent any quality change from the original image.
