Office Open XML Word Document (DOCX) stores text and formatting as zipped XML, relying on the reader's installed fonts to render the final layout. ODS file (ODS) stores data in the ODS format. This extracts structured tabular data from the document into an editable spreadsheet format. Metadata such as creation date and embedded colour profiles is preserved where the target format supports it.
