PNG is a image format: it uses lossless DEFLATE compression and supports a full alpha-transparency channel, preserving every pixel exactly as encoded. OGV is a video format that stores data in the OGV format. This conversion changes the file's encoding, compression method, and supported feature set. Metadata such as creation date and embedded colour profiles is preserved where the target format supports it.
