WEBM is a video format: it packages VP8/VP9 or AV1 video with Vorbis/Opus audio in a royalty-free container designed for web streaming. PSD is a image format that preserves non-destructive editing layers, masks, adjustment layers, and smart objects in a proprietary Adobe format. This conversion changes the file's encoding, compression method, and supported feature set. Metadata such as creation date and embedded colour profiles is preserved where the target format supports it.
